Next Session:

1.       Hold the word shoulder up to the child.

2.      Say, “What is this?”

3.      Mentally count to ten slowly.

4.      If your child says, shoulder.  Then make a big fuss.  Tell your child you are very proud of him/her.  It is wise to hug your child and express your love for him/her physically.

If your child does not say, shoulder do not be discouraged.  DO NOT SHOW DISAPPOINTMENT!  Instead, say to your child, “It is shoulder isn’t it?”

Repeat this lesson as needed for four more days, until your child says shoulder.  If it has not happened by this time, then stop.  Wait a week and start over.

If your child has learned shoulder simply show him/her the word five more times during the same day, asking him/her each time what it is.  Remember to make a big fuss each time he/she answers correctly.

When you feel confident your children knows shoulder, and then proceed to the Lesson Twenty-Five.
