The content of the lessons provided on this site are comprised of information contained in the original 1964 copyrighted work, How to Teach Your Baby to Read, by Glenn Doman.  Glenn Doman had been the director of the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential.  He did extensive research about teaching young children to read.  Some of his findings date back to the early 1900’s.

The availability of computer programs teaching young children to read came from Glenn Doman’s research.  I disagree with using a computer program in teaching a young child to read.  How can a computer inspire a child to want to learn?  The desire to learn comes from within and should be ignited by the parent.

Unfortunately, Glenn Doman’s book did not offer custom-designed lesson plans showing the step-by-step process in teaching one’s child to read.  Therefore, I decided to create these lesson plans based on the knowledge presented in Mr. Doman’s book.

All lessons on this site represent freedom of speech and freedom of information and they are FREE!

If one decides to obtain more information about baby kids learning to read, I would suggest purchasing a copy of Glenn Doman’s book.

As you will see in the lessons, certain size paper is highly-recommended in introducing words to a baby kid.  However, for one’s convenience, one can use the specific links to access the words created for Self-Vocabulary.  I can not say that words written on an 8 ½ by 11 inch paper will work as well in teaching one’s child to learn to read, due to a baby kid’s visual development.

As other sets of words are introduced throughout the lessons, if the 8 ½ by 11 inch paper worked for teaching the Self-Vocabulary words, then one should continue with copy paper and simply adjust the size of the letters using the recommended color stated for each lesson.  Only Self-Vocabulary words are accessed through a link.  In other words, one is on their own for other vocabulary lists.

For older children or when baby kids are reading, they can enjoy performing skits with stick puppets.  Skits, materials and more included in this book.  Created by a nationally-acclaimed reading specialist.
